Life of Pi Comic Strip

This is my comic strip of a significant part of the book Life of Pi. This is were Pi becomes the alpha on the book. Training takes a lot of courage and strength which Pi had. The training of Richard Parker was necessary for Pi to survive the rest of his journey.

 

Methods of Development ISU#2 ( with a focus on bestfriends)

Analogy:  

Having a best friend is like having a pair of your favourite pyjamas, best friends always make you comfortable as do pyjamas. Pyjamas are warm and comforting like your friends should be. Pyjamas can be long and fit you for quite awhile and the more worn they get the more you become attached to them like with friendship the longer you known someone you end up  wanting to spend more time with it. In the end no one wants to throughout their favourite pyjamas as no one wants to lose their best friends.

Anecdote: 
Finding my best friend changed me forever, my best friend has some things in common with me but also so many other things that we don't have in common. Although, this both allows us to grow as individuals as well as together. 

Cause and Effect:


Having a best friend allows me to grow as a person mentally and physically.

Definition:


Best friends is defined as the "one friend is closet to you"
so the friend that you have connected with the most on so many different levels would be your best friend.




Process Analysis:
My best friend is very picky when it comes to eating  her muffins first she has to pull the top of, after that he has to peel the wrapper off the bottom after that she is able to it the bottom. After eating the bottom she eats the top saving it for last since its her favourite part.

Introduction to Second ISU

For my next ISU we have to provide six scenarios using the methods of developments  that we learned about in class. Each example has to include a picture and each is too follow a theme the theme that I'm focusing on would be best friends.

Assignment Number One: The Last rung on the Ladder

The short story that I decided to compare is the story The Last Rung on the Ladder written by Stephan King to the media text, the song " The one that got away" by Katy Perry.  The theme of this story and song is to cherish what you have when you have it, because at any moment it can be taken away. In the story The Last Rung on the Ladder the protagonist, Larry has always been there for his little sister  until his career began to do really well. This is when he moved away and this is where his sisters life began to fall apart with the dissolved marriage it was too much for Katrina, this is when she relied heavily on Larry but Larry wasn't there for her. So instead of continuing to ask her brother for help she took matters into her own hands and took her own life. This guiltiness will haunt Larry for ever because he was more focused on work instead on his family. I believe work is important but when your family is in need I believe that's when its time for you to drop everything and make sure they are okay, because families should always stick together through thick and then. With the song " The one that got away" the song is about her regrets because she took her boyfriend for granted for example in the song she sings "All this money can't buy me a time machine Can't replace you with a million rings I should've told you what you meant to me 'Cause now I pay the price" this line symbolizes that she made mistakes and since she didn't cherish everything they had together now she will feel the pain forever.  Another line in the song that represents the theme will would be "I'm no longer your muse" meaning that shes no longer there for you to just fall back on or use when you need something, because its a two way street like the saying " you scratch my back I'll scratch yours" in a way this is how you miss out on the good times that you should be spent together. In the music video it doesn't quite end the same as the story although it does have the same meaning live life likes there no tomorrow and that will leave you with no regrets.
